Creating a Strong Estate Plan: Protect Your Family and Your Finances In-Person

Whether you are a planner or a procrastinator, having a strong and up-to-date estate plan should be at the top of your to-do list. In addition to providing the peace of mind of knowing your final wishes will be legally documented, an estate plan provides a roadmap for your loved ones to know how to care for you if you are no longer able to care for yourself and/or your financial and legal affairs.

In this session, you’ll learn about important estate planning documents like Wills, powers of attorney, advance directives, and trusts, and the purpose and powers included in each.  Furthermore, we’ll examine what happens if you don’t have a Will when you pass away, how your estate gets divided amongst your heirs, who can pay your bills if you can’t, how to choose your power of attorney and health care agents, and some common estate planning mistakes that you will want to avoid. Even if you have already created an estate plan, discover when and if you should have your existing documents reviewed and updated.
